A new and breaking report from Sam Mobile claims that Samsung may again be trying to challenge the iPad, this time with a new 13-inch tablet that would be its largest such device ever released, and possibly one that could beat the purported 12.2-inch iPad Pro to store shelves.
Currently, the 12.2-inch Galaxy Tab Pro and Galaxy Note Pro are Samsung’s largest tablets, and both are in the high-end category. However, neither slate was able to make much of a dent in the high-end tablet market, despite their premium specifications. With this rumor from the mostly-accurate Sam Mobile, it looks like Samsung’s gunning for the iPad once again, though details on the device remain few and far in-between.
The report did share some information on what to expect, and that would include the use of LCD display tech, instead of AMOLED; Samsung’s more recent high-end tablet release, the Galaxy Tab S series, was notable for the devices’ use of AMOLED tech for clearer photo quality. However, it’s not sure whether the 13-inch Samsung tablet will be a convertible/hybrid-type device like the Microsoft Surface Pro 3, as specifications and features remain a big unknown.
