A report from Bloomberg said today that the last Bugatti Veyron – the 450th out of 450 such supercars manufactured – has just been sold.
Volkswagen’s luxury supercar-making division released the Veyron in 2005, debuting the vehicle with a muscular 1,001 horsepower engine that was hiked up to 1,200 horses in recent Grand Sport variants. The Veyron, aside from being the type of high-powered car only available to the rich and famous, also set an important speed record, with a Super Sport variant hitting 268 mph in 2010. And now, the final Veyron has been sold, but will first be making a stop by the Geneva Motor Show next week.
Bloomberg’s report claims that the last Veyron is a droptop Grand Sport Vitesse, with the appropriate moniker “La Finale.” It wasn’t stated how much La Finale sold for, nor did the report name the person who bought it, but the publication notes that it was purchased by a Middle East customer. All 450 Bugatti Veyrons sold for an average of $2.6 million per example, quite a price point indeed, even for a supercar of its caliber.
