Yesterday, we told you how rumors had suggested that the Moto X+1 release date would take place in late September, with the Verizon edition possibly arriving in stores on September 25. The good news is that the Moto X+1, or the Moto X2 as it is being called now, will be out in the market earlier than what was rumored, if GSM Arena’s insider source is correct.
GSM Arena cited a retail store representative who supposedly got the details from one of Motorola’s reps in its special report, where it said the Moto X+1/Moto X2 release date would be on September 10. The Moto G2 will also be released on that date, and with both phones set to arrive (get unveiled) in August, with a global unveiling/release on September 10. According to GSM Arena, there’s a chance that the phones may be released as early as August, though it’s not quite clear whether the select retailers who will be receiving the Moto X+1 and Moto G2 by then can sell it ahead of September 10.
As GSM Arena is not based in the United States, the publication also got informed of the Moto G2’s price point – 250 Euros unlocked, or about twice the price of the unlocked Moto G. Its specs are expected to include a 5-inch, 720p display, a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor paired with 1 GB RAM, an Adreno 305 GPU, an 8-megapixel rear camera, a 2-megapixel front camera, 8 GB internal memory (with microSD support still unknown), and Android 4.4.4 KitKat.
As for the Moto X+1, the device may come with a 5-inch, 1080p display, a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor with 2 GB RAM, Android 4.4.4 KitKat, 16 GB or 32 GB internal memory with microSD, and a 12-megapixel rear camera. Both Moto X+1 and Moto G2 are expected to come with Moto Maker customization as a primary selling feature.
