Samsung’s Galaxy A-series of handsets has gotten some positive attention since the devices were first rumored last month, and it has nothing to do with specifications or special features. These three phones – the Galaxy A3, A5, and A7 – are all set to follow in the footsteps of the Galaxy Alpha, though it’s not sure if they’ll come with a similar (metal frame) or the exact same all-metal build. With that aspect still unknown, we’ve been learning more about the three phones in recent days, and a new report has added some release info to the mix, outing the devices’ rumored price points.
According to the well-connected Sam Mobile, the entry-level Galaxy A3, which has model number SM-A300, will be priced between $350 and $400. The Galaxy A5 (SM-A500) is next on the scale with a rumored price tag of $400 to $450. Finally, the Galaxy A7 (SM-A700) may set buyers back by $450 to $500. These are all prices for unlocked versions, though that wasn’t the only release detail rumored by Sam Mobile. The site also claims the Galaxy A7 may be released only in select markets, so as not to cannibalize the $600 USD-ish Galaxy Alpha.
Previous reports had teased some of the Galaxy A-series’ specs, and according to these reports, the Galaxy A3 will come with 950 x 540 display resolution, while the A5 and A7 will have 720p HD resolution. All three phones may have similar Snapdragon 400 or 410/1 GB RAM powertrains, as well as identical 16 GB internal storage base configurations and 8-megapixel rear cameras.
