Sony’s pre-IFA 2014 press event invitations have just been leaked, and it would appear that the Sony Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact may indeed be among the devices scheduled to be announced at the Japanese company’s big event.
Retail site ePrice has been quite brazen in the past in leaking unreleased devices, parts from these devices, and event invitations, and this doesn’t seem to be an exception. The leaked Sony invites show that the company will be holding the event at 4:15 p.m. local time on September 3, in Berlin, Germany. And it also looks like Sony has one or two phones ready to reveal – it’s a safe guess that these phones are the Xperia Z3 and the Xperia Z3 Compact.
Aside from the two phones, the invites also suggest that a few other devices may be unveiled at the pre-IFA 2014 presser – a television set and a new attachable camera lens seem to be good guesses at this point. Apart from that, there’s little else that can be gleaned from the leaked invitations, so it may be best to stay tuned for the latest rumors behind the scenes for a better idea of what Sony has in store for the upcoming event.
The Xperia Z3 is expected to be the highlight of Sony’s press briefing, and rumors suggest it may be headed to T-Mobile in the United States not long after its arrival in September. The device’s specs, however, may be quite similar to those of the Xperia Z2 – rumors tip a 5.1 or 5.2-inch, 1080p display, a quad-core Snapdragon 801 or 805 processor paired with 3 GB RAM, a 20.7-megapixel rear camera and Android 4.4 KitKat, plus front stereo speakers and G Lens technology as selling features.
