Not too long ago, Microsoft unveiled Windows 10 for the first time, but only gave the enterprise version a launch at that time. However, it looks like another facet of Windows 10 will be “arriving” early next year, as Microsoft confirmed it will unveil the consumer version of its new platform on January 21, 2015.
In the truest sense of the word, Windows 10 has “arrived,” but Microsoft has long asserted that what we’ve seen so far is just the tip of the iceberg – there’s a lot more to unveil for Windows 10, and on January 21 Microsoft will be holding Windows 10’s long-awaited Consumer Preview. According to TechCrunch, this may be the second part of a three-pronged launch, with Microsoft unveiling enterprise, consumer, and developer versions of the new operating system, in order.
The general public would be able to view the Windows 10 launch from the comfort of their homes, or from work, as Microsoft will be live-streaming the Consumer Preview. But what can consumers expect from Windows 10? So far, it looks like the platform is getting much better reception than Windows 8 did when it first launched, but it has also received some criticism, particularly from power users. But for casual users, we don’t see any immediate complaints so far, as Windows 10 has been said to offer the best of both worlds – classic Windows pre-Windows 8, as well as the newfangled, yet polarizing approach used on the latter iteration.
