With the 2016 Jaguar XE close to becoming available at auto dealerships, the company launched this week a new configurator for buyers to toy around with, but one important release detail regarding the upcoming vehicle remains missing – its pricing.
At the end of the day, the important thing is that potential buyers can use the configurator, and in here customers can “build” a new 2016 Jaguar XE, XE-R Sport, or XE S. The latter model comes with a 3.0-liter, V6 supercharged engine paired up with an eight-speed automatic transmission and capable of 340 horsepower and 332 lb/ft. of torque. Top speed is estimated at 155 mph, while 0-60 time is an impressive 4.9 seconds.
Things get interesting when it comes to the available color options, as both the XE and XE-R Sport trims can be configured with any one of 13 exterior colors. Different trims have different wheel varieties, with the XE coming with six options, and the XE-R offering 10 options. Buyers can also configure their 2016 Jaguar XE with their choice of halogen headlights, or higher-end HID xenon headlights with J-blade running lights. Inside the vehicle, you can opt for carbon fiber veneers on the XE-R sport, among other options, while four colors are available for the two-tone schemes on the leather upholstery.
Yes, it’s a bit of a disappointment that pricing details are still a mystery, but the 2016 Jaguar XE configurator is up and running, and should give you a good taster of what to expect when the car arrives at dealerships.
