It might not be another month or more before the Samsung Galaxy S6 hits stores, but the Uncarrier has gotten the ball rolling, releasing a sign-up page that essentially serves as a teaser for the Korean company’s new flagship phone.
T-Mobile’s sign-up page features an image of the Galaxy S6 facing down, with the Samsung logo on the upper right and the slogan “Six Appeal” above the phone. The photo backs up reports that Samsung will be going with a totally different, less conservative design with its new hero phone, and the strong use of magenta in the teaser is a nod to T-Mobile’s official colors.
The Samsung Galaxy S6’s specifications have been rumored to include a QHD (2560 x 1440) display of unknown size – various reports have claimed 5.1 inches, 5.3 inches, and 5.5 inches, with nothing definite on that front. The phone may also come with an eight-core Exynos 7420 processor, 3 GB RAM, a 16-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel front camera, and 32 GB, 64 GB, and 128 GB as the storage configurations. Special features reportedly include a redesigned fingerprint sensor, and a newer, lightly-skinned TouchWiz user interface without company bloatware. Some rumors claim Samsung will be releasing a Snapdragon 810-powered version of the Galaxy S6 after all, and if it does, that’s likely to be the US-spec version.
Separately, Samsung released its own teaser image for the Galaxy S6, using #TheNextGalaxy as a hashtag. A video from the company, together with the photo, seemingly corroborates rumors that the device would be Samsung’s first metal flagship, after five years of criticism for its use of cheap plastic.
